Reference Radio Board Design

EWL's reference design and evaluation kits support RF4CE, IEEE 802.15.4, ZigBee® and 6LoWPAN network technologies and enable developers to build, debug and demonstrate IEEE 802.15.4 compliant wireless applications such as ZigBee.

ZigBee is the global wireless language based on the IEEE 802.15.4-2003 standard for connect different devices to work together ZigBee lets you easily and cost-effectively add intelligent new features to improve product efficiency, safety, security and reliability.
The reference radio boards cover the regional 700/800/900MHz and worldwide 2.4GHz ISM band RF transceivers. It is capable of supporting 2.4GHz devices and comes with IEEE 802.15.4 enabled sub gigahertz radio. The two AVR UC3 based host nodes can be used to evaluate a point to point network connection.

"The kit showcases Atmel's line-up of low power and high RF performance transceivers, which offer extended battery life for portable applications and extended range for robust connection."

EWL's AVR reference radio boards are built with the host end of a standardized 10-pin connector to enable the RF boards to be connected to any AVR microcontroller. This allows users to evaluate radio transceivers across all types of applications. EWL also developed the evaluation kit for Atmel Corporation.
