Wireless Technology for Patient Monitoring
System
In modern hospitals, patient monitoring systems capture vital signs such as ECG, blood pressure and temperature and transmit them in real time to a central server over wireless networks such as Wi-Fi.
Such Wi-Fi networks in hospitals typically deploy multiple access points which require a device's scanning mechanism to detect AP channels quickly in order to maintain real time connection especially when roaming.
This optimises the system's roaming capabilities as it scans only fewer selected AP channels.
