Wireless Technology for Patient MonitoringSystem

In modern hospitals, patient monitoring systems capture vital signs such as ECG, blood pressure and temperature and transmit them in real time to a central server over wireless networks such as Wi-Fi.

Such Wi-Fi networks in hospitals typically deploy multiple access points which require a device's scanning mechanism to detect AP channels quickly in order to maintain real time connection especially when roaming.

EWL developed new wireless application for Dräger Medical's patient monitoring system.
EWL engineers developed advanced wireless technology to be used in Draeger's patient monitoring system to mitigate data loss in a hospital environment. We designed device drivers that connect faster to the system with minimum packet loss, by programming the controllers to scan only country specified channels.

This optimises the system's roaming capabilities as it scans only fewer selected AP channels.
